Hello
Essex is my home. It’s the place that shaped me, where my family and friends are, and where my sense of community comes from. From our towns and villages to our businesses and public services, this is an area full of potential and pride.
I know Essex isn’t one thing. It’s diverse, ambitious, and often underestimated. But I also know the challenges people face here - whether that’s getting around, finding good work, or feeling that decisions are made too far away to reflect local realities.
That’s why I care so deeply about getting this right. I want Essex to have the confidence, the voice, and the leadership it deserves - rooted in local communities and focused on building a future everyone can believe in.
My Story
I live in Essex and I’ve spent my career doing a range of jobs in the private, public and community sectors. I've run organisations and served my local community.
I served for seven years as a councillor on Colchester City Council, including as Deputy Leader . During that time, I worked on local jobs, housing, and public services, and on bringing councils, businesses and communities together to get things done.
I’ve also worked across North Essex on plans for growth, skills and infrastructure, and represented the area in wider regional discussions about investment and devolution.
In 2024, I stood as Labour’s candidate for Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, focusing on safer communities and neighbourhood policing. I’m now Labour’s candidate for Mayor of Greater Essex, with a clear focus on jobs, transport, housing and giving Essex a stronger voice.
At heart, my approach is simple: listen first, work collaboratively, and focus on practical outcomes.
Essex is my home, and I’m committed to helping it thrive.
